– Turn off the water supply to the toilet and flush it.
– Boil enough water to fill 1/3 of the tank.
– Allow to cool for a few minutes and then add 250ml to 500ml of vinegar.
– Pour the mixture into the tank and onto the sides of the bowl and let it sit for several hours (or even overnight).
– Put on gloves to protect your hands from dirt.
– Drain the water and gently scrub the inside of the bowl from top to bottom with a brush or sponge.
If the limescale layer is thick, heat the vinegar before pouring it into the tank and leave it overnight before scrubbing it with the toilet brush. (You can also use a spatula to scrape off any sticky residue.)
