Once the cakes have completely cooled, place a layer on a serving plate or cake stand. Spread a layer of frosting evenly over the top.
Place the second layer of cake on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
Decorate the cake with fresh strawberries, if desired.
