Caramelized corn chips

Prepare the ingredients:

Place the popcorn kernels in a large bowl and make sure all the ingredients are ready before you begin, as the recipe moves quickly once you start making the caramel.
Prepare the popcorn:

In a large saucepan with a lid, heat a few tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat.
Add the corn kernels and cover the pot with the lid.
Shake the jar occasionally to make sure all the grains pop.
Once the popping noise has subsided considerably, remove the pan from the heat and transfer the popcorn to a large bowl.
Prepare the caramel:

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
