Living in this busy world makes it very easy to miss some messages sent by your body. And the consequences of not communicating and responding to these signals can be drastic.
We have made a list of signs that indicate that your kidneys are not working properly. How many of these signals did your body send you?
Sleeping problems. When the kidneys do not function properly, it means that toxins cannot leave the body through urine and remain in the blood. The increased level of toxins makes it difficult to fall asleep. That’s why when you sleep less, the chances of kidney function declining increase.
Warning: People with chronic kidney disease more often suffer from sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a disorder that causes one or more pauses in breathing while you sleep. These pauses can last from a couple of seconds to a minute. After each pause, normal breathing returns with a loud snort. Loud and continuous snoring indicates that it is time to go to the doctor.
Headache, tiredness and general weakness. Healthy, properly functioning kidneys convert vitamin D in our bodies to keep bones strong and produce a hormone called erythropoietin (EPO). This hormone plays an important role in the production of red blood cells.
When the kidneys are not working properly, they produce less EPO. The decrease in red blood cells (those that carry oxygen) causes rapid fatigue of the muscles and brain.
