5. SODA CRYSTALS
To brighten colors and make whites whiter, add 1/2 cup (125 ml) of soda crystals to each wash. This will also help to reduce limescale deposits in the machine.

Not carrying baking soda with you? Don’t worry—lemon by itself works just as well. Pour a small amount into your washing machine’s detergent drawer. After adding the detergent, stir.
7) WHITE VINEGAR
This is most likely the easiest fix. White laundry can be soaked in a container of water and two glasses of vinegar, or the vinegar can be added straight to the washing machine’s wash cycle.
MARSEILLE SOAP, number eight
Not only is this soap excellent for delicate skin, but it also works wonders as a natural laundry whitener. There are various ways that you can use it.
The first is to use Marseille soap to create your own homemade laundry detergent. In this instance, use your homemade detergent produced with Marseille soap and wash your laundry in the machine as usual.
If not, you can also use Marseille soap to pre-soak your white clothing, let it sit for a few hours, and then wash it in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry.
