How to store garlic so it lasts a year or more
Experienced cooks will be familiar with this garlic preservation technique. Start by soaking a pound of garlic cloves in hot water for about an hour. Once dry, the leather will peel off easily thanks to the softening effect of the water. Place the teeth in a disinfected glass jar and add two tablespoons of coarse or coarse salt (about 30 grams). To help preserve the garlic, finish by pouring in a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or wine vinegar

Finally, heat the water until it boils and let it cool. Then, cut a lemon wedge and place it on top of the garlic cloves before closing the jar tightly. Shake the container to mix all the ingredients.

This method of storing garlic cloves will keep them fresh and usable for over a year. And not only that, it eliminates the need to peel every time you use it, making it an incredibly convenient and effective option for many cooks.
