Procedure:
Step 1: Prepare the Bronze Wire
Start by cutting a piece of bronze wire about 10 cm (4 inches) long. You can easily find this wire by stripping the plastic coating off an old electrical cable. Simply remove the outer coating and pull out one of the inner wires.
Step 2: Form the Threader
Fold the bronze wire in half, creating a small loop at one end. The loop should be small enough to fit through the eye of the needle, but large enough to easily thread your sewing thread through it.
Step 3: Attach the Threader to the Clothespin
Open up the clothespin and position the folded end of the bronze wire in the center of the pin. Once in place, close the pin to hold the wire securely.
Use a drop of superglue to attach the bronze wire to the clothespin, ensuring the loop remains free and sticks out slightly from the center of the pin. Allow the glue to dry completely before proceeding.
Step 4: Thread the Needle
To thread the needle, simply insert the loop of the bronze wire through the eye of the needle. The loop should slide through easily because of the wire’s stiffness and the appropriate size.
