Death by Chocolate Bundt Cake

Prepare the Oven and Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan thoroughly to ensure the cake releases easily after baking.
Make the Cake Batter:
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix just until combined.
Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth; note that the batter will be quite thin.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
