Step 1: Preheat the Oven

• Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Mash the Bananas

• In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas using a fork until smooth.

Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients

• Melt the butter and mix it into the mashed bananas. Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.

Step 4: Prepare Dry Ingredients

• In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5: Mix Batter

• Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6: Add Sour Cream and Mix-ins

• Fold in the sour cream or yogurt until the batter is smooth. If desired, gently mix in chopped nuts or chocolate chips.

Step 7: Bake

• Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 60–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
