Avocado Sauce for Tacos: A Creamy, Flavorful Addition

Ingredients
1 ripe avocado
1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt (for a tangier version, you can also use a plant-based yogurt)
2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1 small garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup water (or more, depending on desired consistency)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1-2 teaspoons of jalapeño or hot sauce for a spicy kick

Directions
Preparing the Avocado Sauce
Prepare the Avocado:
Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh out into a blender or food processor.
Blend the Ingredients:
Add the sour cream or Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, and garlic to the blender. If you like your sauce a bit spicier, add jalapeño or hot sauce at this point.
Adjust Consistency:
Blend until smooth, adding water little by little until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. If you want a thicker sauce, use less water, or add more for a thinner consistency.
Season to Taste:
Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper to your preference. Blend again to mix the seasoning.
Serve or Store:
Pour the avocado sauce into a serving bowl or drizzle directly onto your tacos. If not serving immediately, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days.
