Preparing the Nutella Liqueur
Heat the Cream and Nutella:
In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and Nutella over medium heat. Stir constantly until the Nutella has fully melted and the mixture is smooth and well combined. This should take about 3-4 minutes. Be careful not to let it boil.
Add the Milk and Sweetened Condensed Milk:
Stir in the whole milk and sweetened condensed milk. Continue heating and stirring until the mixture is smooth and heated through. This will give the liqueur its creamy consistency.
Cool the Mixture:
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the Nutella mixture cool for about 10 minutes. Allowing it to cool slightly helps to incorporate the alcohol without losing its smooth texture.
Add the Vodka and Vanilla:
Once the mixture has cooled slightly, stir in the vodka, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt (if using). The vodka will give the liqueur its kick, while the vanilla enhances the overall flavor.
Blend the Liqueur:
To ensure the liqueur is perfectly smooth, you can blend the entire mixture with an immersion blender or in a regular blender for 10-15 seconds. This step helps to fully incorporate the ingredients and ensure a velvety texture.
Bottle the Liqueur:
Pour the finished Nutella liqueur into a clean bottle or jar. Seal it tightly and store it in the refrigerator.
Let the Liqueur Sit
While you can drink the liqueur immediately, it’s best to let it sit in the fridge for at least 24 hours before consuming. This allows the flavors to meld together and creates a smoother, richer taste.
