Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Brownie Layer: Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions, then stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and bake according to the package directions. Let the brownies cool completely.
Make the Peanut Butter Layer: In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled brownies.
Add the Topping: Sprinkle the chopped peanut butter cups evenly over the peanut butter layer. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of peanut butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Drizzle this mixture over the top of the brownies.
Chill: Refrigerate the brownies for at least 1 hour, or until the top layer is set. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
