Step 1: Prepare the Fries
Preheat the Oven
If you’re using fresh potatoes, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Cut and Season
If using fresh potatoes, cut them into fries and soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and dry them thoroughly. Toss the fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Bake the Fries
Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Step 2: Cook the Steak
Sauté the Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and green bell pepper (if using) and sauté for about 3–4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
