Transform Orange Peels with Salt: A Simple Yet Surprising Use

Prepare the Orange Peels: Start by peeling your oranges. You can use a peeler to obtain large strips, which are easier to handle. Try to get just the orange part, minimizing the white pith which can be bitter.
Coat with Salt: Place the orange peels in a bowl and sprinkle them with coarse salt. The salt not only preserves the peels but also extracts oils from them, which are useful for cleaning and deodorizing.
Let Them Marinate: Allow the salted orange peels to sit for at least a few hours, or overnight if possible. During this time, the salt begins to draw out the essential oils from the peels, enhancing their fragrance and cleaning power.
Use for Cleaning: Once ready, you can use these peels to scrub surfaces. Simply take a peel, pinch a bit of the salted part, and scrub. This works well for kitchen counters, stovetops, and bathroom surfaces.
