Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Turkey
Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity and pat the turkey dry with paper towels. This helps the skin crisp up during roasting.
Season the Turkey
Rub the turkey all over with olive oil or melted butter. Season generously with salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings you prefer, including garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and sage. Make sure to season the cavity as well.
Stuff the Cavity
Place the quartered onion, smashed garlic, and fresh herbs inside the turkey cavity for added flavor.
Prepare the Roasting Bag
Place the roasting bag in a large roasting pan. Carefully insert the seasoned turkey into the bag. Pour in about 2 cups of broth (the turkey will create its own juices, but this adds flavor and moisture).
