Step 2: Sauté the Garlic
In a medium-sized pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is warm, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can become bitter.

Step 3: Add Broth and Rice
To the pot, add the chicken broth (or vegetable broth for a vegetarian version), and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, stir in the rinsed rice, salt, and pepper. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and all the liquid has been absorbed.

Step 4: Add Lemon Flavor
Once the rice is cooked, remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the fresh lemon juice, zest, and optional butter. The lemon juice will give the rice a refreshing tang, while the zest enhances the citrus aroma and adds depth to the flavor.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve
After stirring in the lemon, fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Serve the rice warm as a side dish with your favorite main course.
