ground beef, one pound
Cut five or six medium potatoes into small pieces after peeling.
Chopped onion, one medium-sized
minced garlic (three cloves)
Three cups of chicken broth
half a teaspoon of dried basil
thyme, dry, 1 teaspoon
1 spoonful of dried basil
Adjust with salt & pepper as desired.
For a creamier consistency, use three cups of half-and-half or whole milk.
Stir with 2 cups of crumbled cheddar!
(optional) 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, used for thickening.
For added creaminess, you may optionally add 2 tablespoons of butter.
Green onions, chopped, or fresh parsley, chopped (optional), for garnish
