Instructions
Make sure the ground beef is properly cooked by browning it in a pan over medium heat. After removing any extra fat, place the steak in the crockpot.
Set the Vegetables in Motion: In addition to chopping the onion and garlic, peel and cube the potatoes. Toss them into the slow cooker with the browned meat.
Bring the Soup to a boil. Season with salt and pepper and put the chicken stock, parsley, thyme, basil, and herbs into the Slow Cooker. Mix thoroughly.
Prepare food: To get potatoes that are soft, cover and simmer for six to seven hours, or three to four hours on high.
To Make It Creamy: Stir in the milk (or half-and-half) and grated cheddar cheese about 30 minutes before serving. Melt the cheese and blend the soup until smooth. Before putting the mixture to the crockpot, stir the flour into the milk to get a thicker consistency.
Add Butter for a Finish (Optional): To make it more creamier and richer, stir in the butter.
To serve, spoon soup into individual bowls and top with chopped green onions or fresh parsley, if preferred. Warm it up and serve it with some crusty toast.

Put Starchy Potatoes to Use: The ideal potatoes to use are russet or Yukon Gold potatoes since they simmer down a little and lend a creamy feel to the soup.
