1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.
2. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1-1.5 inches in diameter.
3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your skillet.
4. Once the meatballs are browned, add them all back to the skillet and pour in the marinara sauce. Gently stir in the heavy cream and red pepper flakes if using.
5. Reduce the heat to low and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for about 20 minutes, allowing them to cook through and the flavors to meld.
6. Garnish with fresh basil before serving. Enjoy!
