Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

Step 3: Add Marshmallows

Add the mini marshmallows to the peanut butter mixture, stirring until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. If using vanilla extract, stir it in at this point.

Step 4: Mix in the Cereal

Remove the saucepan from heat. Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture, stirring until all the cereal is evenly coated.

Step 5: Press into Pan

Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or your hands (greased with a bit of butter or non-stick spray) to press the mixture evenly into the dish.

Step 6: Add Chocolate Topping (Optional)

If desired, sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top while the mixture is still warm. Let them melt slightly, then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate over the top.

Step 7: Cool and Serve
Allow the Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats to cool completely before cutting them into squares. Enjoy!
