Mini Cherry Cheese Danishes
Ingredients:
For the Danishes:
Ingredient Quantity
Crescent rolls (e.g., Pillsbury) 1 package
Flour 1-2 tablespoons (for dusting)
For the Filling:
Ingredient Quantity
Cream cheese, softened 4 ounces
Powdered/granulated sugar ¾ cup
Vanilla extract ½ teaspoon
Cherry pie filling 1 can
For the Glazing:
Ingredient Quantity
Granulated sugar ⅓ cup
Milk 3 tablespoons
Instructions:
Preheat Oven & Prep Dough: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Take out the crescent rolls (if frozen, ensure they are thawed). Unroll the dough. Carefully cut the dough from the middle into approximately 15 slices or squares (adjust based on how many danishes you want).
Arrange & Shape Dough: Place the dough slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Make sure the parchment paper is lightly greased before adding the slices. Use a measuring cup or a small saucer to gently press down on the center of each dough piece to create a flat, indented area. With your fingers, gently push up the edges to create “walls” around the indentation, which will help hold the filling.
Dust with Flour: Lightly sprinkle flour on the baking sheet around the rolls and over the rolls to help prevent sticking.
Prepare Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, use a beater (hand mixer or stand mixer) to mix the softened cream cheese, ¾ cup powdered/granulated sugar, and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
