The Creamy Apple Salad is a versatile dish that can accompany a wide array of mains and sides. It pairs wonderfully with grilled chicken or a slice of savory quiche. For a comforting meal, serve it alongside a classic meatloaf or roasted turkey. When looking for a lighter option, this salad also complements a cold pasta salad or a warm bowl of butternut squash soup.

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients
- 3 medium crisp apples (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji), cored and chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1/2 cup seedless grapes, halved (optional)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise or a lighter alternative like Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Lettuce leaves, for serving (optional)
Directions
1. In a large bowl, toss the chopped apples with lemon juice to prevent browning.
2. Add the chopped celery and nuts to the apples, and if using, the grape halves, then gently mix.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt) and honey (or maple syrup) until well combined.
4. Fold the dressing into the apple mixture until everything is coated evenly. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
5. Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
6. If desired, serve your Creamy Apple Salad on a bed of fresh lettuce leaves for an elegant presentation.
