Golden-Brown Beef and Herb Pastry Twists
Servings: 8
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft and translucent.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Stir in the dried thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper, and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into strips, about 1 inch wide.
Place a spoonful of the beef mixture along the center of each strip.
Fold the pastry over the filling and twist each strip gently to form a spiral shape.
Place the twists on the prepared baking tray and brush with beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
