For a bit of heat, you can add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the glaze. If you're not a fan of cilantro, fresh dill or parsley would also work well as a garnish. For a different flavor profile, try substituting the maple syrup with honey or agave nectar. If you prefer grilling over baking, you can grill the salmon on medium heat for about 6-8 minutes per side, basting with the glaze as it cooks.
