When it comes to superficial cleaning, floor cleaning can seem like a boring, but certainly easy, job. When we talk about a deeper cleaning, which also includes whitening the grout, the situation changes completely.
Dirt, grease, and bacteria settle in the floor grout, which eventually accumulates and turns it a very annoying black color, especially if the tiles are white or at least light-colored.
If you're also very concerned about floor cleaning, you'll be pleased to know that it's possible to whiten grout naturally and without much effort. Below, we suggest the four most effective methods for this.
Sodium Bicarbonate
When combined with water, it is one of the most effective cleaning products on various types of surfaces.
In a bowl, combine the water and baking soda and mix until you get a creamy mixture. Use a toothbrush to apply the paste to the grout and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Scrub between the grout lines with the brush to remove dirt, then rinse.
Hydrogen Peroxide
This product is part of the first aid kit, but it's also very useful for cleaning, disinfecting, and bleaching grout lines.
Pour baking soda over the grout lines.
Add hydrogen peroxide and liquid dish soap.
Let it sit for 5 minutes, then scrub thoroughly with a toothbrush and rinse.
White Vinegar
White vinegar can be used in many ways. In addition to cleaning grout lines thoroughly, it's effective against limescale and mold.
Pour the vinegar over the grout lines.
Add baking soda.
Scrub vigorously with a toothbrush, then rinse.
