Coffee often does us good, yet there is a certain amount not to be exceeded to put his health in danger. A doctor recalls the amount of cups not to be exceeded in a day.
Every morning, millions of people enjoy their coffee to start the day. CNN has been looking into the matter and interviewed Dr. Leana Wen, an emergency physician and associate professor at George Washington University. Expert in public health, she shares her analysis on the benefits of coffee, as well as the recommended amounts and precautions to take.
Why does coffee provide health benefits?
According to the expert, “The evidence is pretty solid” concerning the Benefits of Coffee : “In addition to recent studies, a plethora of research conducted over the decades have shown that moderate coffee consumption is associated with a reduced risk of developing multiple diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, some cancers and even dementia.”She told CNN. The scientific explanation is still unclear, but several hypotheses exist.
Coffee contains substances with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which could play a role in cancer prevention. Some compounds would also help the body to better use insulin and control blood sugar (blood sugar levels). In addition, some components of coffee could influence cholesterol metabolism and thus protect the cardiovascular system. However, Dr. Wen points out that further research is needed to accurately identify the beneficial elements of coffee and understand how they are acting.
